  1.                                 Mailer or FAX?
  2.  
  3.          Both  mailers  and FAX systems do basically the  same  thing,
  4.          they take an item such as a letter and transmit it to another
  5.          location.
  6.  
  7.          Mailers  are  vastly superior to FAX systems in  respects  to
  8.          SPEED,  ability  to send a conglomerate of  different   items
  9.          such  as files, archived documents,  spreadsheets,  graphics,
  10.          etc.,  and  more  importantly, Mailers offer  a  much  higher
  11.          degree of control (routing, scheduling, forwarding),  safety,
  12.          and security.

  14.          FAX systems have two rather big drawbacks. First, their  VERY
  15.          slow  in  comparison to a mailer. Second and maybe  the  most
  16.          significant is the fact that once you get this FAX  document,
  17.          your only recourse is to print it out. You can't work with it
  18.          ie.  can't  load  it into your  word  processor,  spreadsheet
  19.          program, or database system.

  119.          ARQ  fail safe option that automatically  disconnects  should
  120.          throughput  fall below a certain level. IF the ARQ fail  safe
  121.          causes a disconnect it will generate a poll, if one is needed

  126.          dial  out  delay  time, busy attempts,  number  of  times  to

  130.          bundle  it  is (file attach, echomail, matrix  message,  file
  131.          request, etc.), the file size, the status (hold, send, crash,
  132.          not on my dime, zero quality). Each item is individual listed
  133.          and  the  status  of each individual  item  can  get  changed
  134.          without bring the mailer down.

  136.          Ability  to  change your Fidonet primary address  to  an  AKA
  137.          address when you call a specific system or specific zones.

  140.          address when a specific system or zone calls YOU. Answer  the
  141.          phone with the AKA address THEY are looking for.
